I am Sanket. I have a small issue.
I am trying to create a java application with JDBC ODBC connection with Microsoft Access as database. While configuring the MS Access database from Administrative Tools –> Data Sources (ODBC), I have provided the username and password for the database.
In the statement, DriverManager.getConnection( ), even if I do not provide username and password or if I provide incorrect username and password, the program still accesses the database. How do I force the java program to use the username and password for the database which I have specified??

It first site it looks like you have not set the password for the Access database. I am adding a sample code to test your database and steps to Set database password.

1. Code File to test JDBC-ODBC Connection (Database: testDB.mdb). Click Here
2. Now Open the Microsoft Access. Click Ope > Select the MDB File. (Now Click on Drop down Icon next to Open & Select Open Exclusive. ). Snapshot
3. Once the DB is open Go to > Tools > Set Database password. Set the password and verify.
Now the things should work as you want

Thanks for your help. It worked. Now I have one more doubt. I can only set the password for Access. How do I set username? DriverManager.getConnection works for any username and specified password.
Can I assign multiple usernames and passwords to the same database? Let’s say, I have 5 different pairs of username and password. Can I open my database if the username and password match one of these pairs and print an error message if the username and password do not match any of the pairs?
